Rubén D. Costa, who carried out his PhD thesis at the ICMol, has been awarded by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) with the “2011 IUPAC Prize for Young Chemists”
The award will be given during the opening ceremony of the 43rd IUPAC Congress to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from 30 July to 7 August 2011. The Prize Selection Committee comprised Members of the IUPAC Bureau with a wide range of expertise in chemistry. The Committee was chaired by the distinguished chemist and Past President of IUPAC, Professor Jung-Il Jin.
Rubén Costa presented his PhD Thesis in 2010 entitled “Theoretical and experimental study of light-emitting electrochemical cells based on ionic transition-metal complexes. From the molecule to the device“ directed by the ICMol researchers Enrique Ortí Guillén and Hendrik Jan Bolink. Currently he is a postdoc at the University of Erlangen, Germany.
