Guillermo Mínguez Espallargas, young researcher at the Institute for Molecular Science has been awarded with the “1stXavier Solans Award” for the best publication in 2010 in Crystallography and Crystal Growth by a young Spanish researcher.
Guillermo is nowadays a ‘Juan de la Cierva’ researcher at the ICMol and the awarded work was carried on during his post-doc stay in the group of Prof. Lee Bammer from Sheffield University (United Kingdom). The prized paper entitled Mechanistic Insights into a Gas–Solid Reaction in Molecular Crystals: The Role of Hydrogen Bonding, was published in the prestigious Angewandte Chemie International Edition.
