VI rePCV 2024 Awards: Celebrating Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Valencian Community
Today, Thursday 11th July, the sixth edition of the rePCV 2024 Awards was held, an event dedicated to recognising and rewarding the most outstanding entrepreneurial and business initiatives in the Valencian Community. This year, the aim was to highlight those initiatives that have demonstrated remarkable growth, innovative character, sound business strategy and a significant contribution to the environment.
This year's call included three main categories, among which the "Spin off" category received special attention. This award is aimed at companies promoted by teaching and research staff (PDI), PhDs or doctoral students, created from the exploitation of research results. Companies considered spin-offs must be recognised by one of the Valencian public universities and located in or linked to the region's science parks.
Spin-off Category: Recognising Innovation in Research
In the Spin-off category, the prize was awarded to Matteco, a spin-off of the University of Valencia and the Institute of Molecular Science. Matteco has been awarded for its outstanding contribution to the decarbonisation of the economy through its innovative materials technology. Its development includes advanced catalysts and electrodes for the production of green hydrogen, positioning it as a benchmark in the clean energy sector.
The award to Matteco at the #PremiosREPCV 2024 not only recognises its technological innovation, but also its positive impact on the environment and its ability to transform research results into applicable solutions of great relevance for industry and society.
